Kndoliya 2Km from pauri
At a distance of 2km from pauri,kandoliya is a spectacular spot surrounded by dense forest.The temple of kandoliya Devta,the local Bhumi-Devta,is located here.One can have a panoramic view of Himalayan peaks and Gangwarsyun valley.Awalk along 4kms long road from kandoliya to Buwakhai through oak and pine forest is realy refreshing. Connected by a well-mantained 17kms long road from pauri,Adwani is an ideal picnic spot,as it is surrounded by thick forest and devoid of hustle & bustle.There is a Forest Rest House where one can stay. More
 
Khirsu - 19 km from pauri
The snow-covered mountains of Khirsu offer a panoramin view of the Central Himalayas and attract a large nomber of tourists.From here one can get a clear view of many named & unnamed peaks.Located 19 kms. Away from pauri at an altitude of 1,700 meteres.Khirsu is a peaceful spot,free from pollution.Only the chirping of birds breaks the tranquillity of the adjoining thick Oak andDeodar forests and apple orchards.The ancient temple of Ghandiyal Devta in the vicinity is well worth a visit.Accommodation is available at the Tourist Rest House and Forest Rest House. Doodhatoli 24 kms

Doodhatoli situated at an altitude of 3100 mts, is covered with dense mixed forest.Thalisain is the last bus terminus(100 kms from pauri ) from where Doodhatoli is at a distance of 24 kms by trek. One of the most picturesque places, it commands a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the surrounding area. The indomitable freedom fighter of Garwal, Veer Chandra Singh Garwali,was enamoured by the place.As per his last wish, a memorial in his name has been erected here after his death. A humble but bold memorial in his name  creates a 'never say die'atmosphere under the tall Oak trees.

Lansdowne: it is an altitude of 5600ft, about 81 kms from pauri is most idyllic hill station in the country named after
Lord Lansdowne, the Viceroy of india from 1888 to 1894, Lansdowne isset amidst lovely surroundings - tall oaks andblue pines rise like spires off the mountainside. These forests are ideal for walks and picnics. There are amazing mountain views of the western Himalayas from a number of vantage points like Snow view and Tip-n-Top. This town has retained its 'old-world charm'intact. More

 
Tehari-Garhwal
Tehari,founded in year 1803 by maharaja Sudarahan Shah , is situated inTehari-Garhwal district,at an altitude of 2325 ft at the confluence of Bhagirathi and Bhilangana rivers. The palaces and temples,built by the erstwhile rulars, can be found here. The Tehari dam,the biggest one in the country has come up on river Bhagirathi. The town is located in a wide-open valley. it is surrounded by forests of birch(its wood used like cane) and pine,it is an important road junction from which roads branch off to Rishikesh,Deoprayag,Uttarkashi,Srinagar and Tilwara. Tehari is well connected by road to Dehradun, Mussoorie,Haridwar,Devprayag,Pauri,Rishikesh,Uttarkashi,etc. More
 
HARIDWAR:

The word Haridwar in Hindi literally means"Gateway to the God" has a unique place amongst every devout Hindu. it is the place where the pilgrimage to two famous temples Kedarnath(Lord Shiva) and Badrinath(Lord Vishnu) starts. it believed that  GODs have left there footprints in Haridwar so that every Human being can follow the path of salvation. it is also the bastion of ascetics,sages,Sadhus & Mahatmas. it is a lifetime destination for many people who wish to at least visit once this holy place. it is the very place through which holiest of all rivers, Ganga flows . Millions throng this place throughout the year to seek salvation, to cleanse the soul and to perform the last rites of the beloved ones ,from the all parts of the country. Since time immemorial, this has been a place of mediatationfor sages and rishis.

Haridwar is one of the four places where kumbh Mela, the biggest congregation on the earth, is held every 12 years when millions of peoples take  a holy dip in the river Ganga.It is believed that pitcher of Amrit(nectar) was kept in hiding here by the gods which was obtained as a result of Sagar Manthan(epic sea-churning). in the struggle fwith Asuras(demons) the pitcher broke spilling some sacred water at 4 places. These are Haridwar, Ujjain and Nasik. The Kumbh mela is held every 3 years in these cities in succession.

A beautiful Arti (chanting hymns in Praise of god) is perform every evening at Har-ki Pauri. There is a slap where the footprints of lord vishnu are believed to be imprinted. Rishikesh:
This is another holy city situated at the confluence of river Ganga and Chandrabhaga. It is a prominent place of  many ashrams of Yoga and Meditation. The distance from this place is 75 km. Rishikesh is known for its many Ashrams and Muths(residential and spiritual complexes of ascetics who hold particular religious order) spread out abundantly in the city. Rajaji national park is near to rishikesh. it is distinct for its pristine scenic beauty and rich bio-diversity. More
